IPL Laser

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)

IPL is not a laser treatment, despite being similar in some ways. Unlike lasers, which emit a continuous beam of a single wavelength to the skin, IPL treatments emit light of multiple wavelengths that is more scattered and less focused. Furthermore, IPL treatments reach the second layer of the skin (dermis) without causing harm to the top layer (epidermis), resulting in less damage to the skin.

The red or brown pigmentation absorbs the light energy, which then passes through the skin. This process breaks up dark pigmentation and stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin, leading to firmer skin. The body's natural mechanisms subsequently eliminate the damaged tissue, resulting in a more even and youthful appearance. Different wavelengths are employed to target specific conditions and address hyperpigmentation.
